Strike: Signs still promisingRKO signs interim dealBy DAVE MCNARY Hollywood remains guardedly optimistic about an end to the writers strike, now entering its 13th week. Informal talks between the studios and leaders of the Writers Guild of America are expected to continue today. Both sides continued to observe the news blackout, instituted last week when the WGA accepted the majors’...
Marc's Letterhead
Last night, Marc emailed me the letterhead for his agency. It’s pretty slick. Basically, i’ll go on the front of all of the stuff that we send out: scripts, treatments and so on. Pretty exciting stuff. Everything’s moving forward. And actually, I found out that another client of his is somebody I know. It’s a friend of a friend, someone that I knew through Ryan Werner...
I must try this It’s a cheeseburger in a can. Made by a German company. They’ll ship it to you from Europe for €3.95 plus shipping.
A funny thing that somebody said to me recently

Jury Duty is Done!!
So, I was finally excused yesterday at about 5:00pm. Jury duty for me has been completed, and I’m free until 2014 (or so they tell me). After my delicious lunch at Balthazar on Monday, I returned to the jury room at about 2:15pm and was selected for a jury pool. We went down to the court room, and were introduced to the very impressive and nice judge, the Assistant D.A. trying the case,...
I’m listening to Sufjan Stevens’ songs for Christmas to pass the time
Jury Duty
So, the first day of jury duty is done. If I don’t get picked for a trial then I’ve completed my civic duty until 2014. The only slight catch is that I’m currently in a pool of potential jurors for a case. Which I can’t discuss in the slightest. I have to be back at the courthouse at 11:00am tomorrow to continue the selection process. I’ll serve if I have to, but...
One nice thing about jury duty… Lunch at Balthazar Am here now.
I've been at jury duty for less than an hour
When will this ever end? Two more days as long as I don’t get picked for a jury.
Still Working on Let Them Eat Cake
Both yesterday and today, I did a bunch of work on Let Them Eat Cake. I’ve written several more sequences. It’s coming along well. Today, I’m working on the material that concerns Alexandra, an escort that Sunshine is giving money to in order to buy stock from him. These are fun episodes to write. They’re very interesting characters. Also, Agent Rice now appears...
I Think I'm Here
Last night, I saw I’m Not There. Great movie, really challenging and beautiful and fun. The direction was masterful and the cinematography was gorgeous. I highly, highly recommend it. I thought that it was a little bit long, though, and not being a huge Bob Dylan fan I really didn’t fully understand the whole Billy the Kid/Pat Garrett connection. But I enjoyed that section...
