New York’s new anti-sugar drink ads

Mmm, bacon juice!

I realize that this kind of thing is well-intentioned and it’s what the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene should be doing, but maybe the government of New York ought to be more concerned with an egotistical mayor subverting its own laws in an unconstitutional manner so he can run for a third term?  Or fix the MTA so that the G train comes more than once every thirty minutes during rush hour?
But yes, drink less soda.  It’s bad for your kidneys.  Even the diet stuff.

Um, the money that could be saved on health care costs if New Yorkers eased off the soda (diabetes, childhood obesity, heart disease) could pay for the G train to run every single minute of every single day.
And Mark, what are you, a NYPost.com commenter? They find a way to take any news story about anything that happens in New York - positive or negative - and tie it back to why Bloomberg sucks. (Also, the City Council didn’t have to approve the change in term limits, so they’re equally responsible for that.)

Yeah, but somehow I’m sure that the MTA would find a way to make sure that the G train didn’t run properly.  It just wouldn’t.  The resources will most likely never, ever be placed in that direction.
And no, alas, no New York Post commenting.  I just think things like this are indicative of Bloomberg in general - he pays a lot of attention to small things and his own pet concerns, and ignores bigger issues.  It’s kind of his trademark.  And for the life of me, I can’t understand why people aren’t upset that Bloomberg and the City Council have overturned something that New Yorkers have voted for in two separate referendums.
