    I May Be the Only Person Who Finds This Funny

    In response to my sending this article to George, he wrote back to ask me what I’ve been cooking lately.  My reply:

    I’ve been working on this pasta dish where I make pancetta, then make a sauce from three tablespoons of butter, two tablespoons of oliver oil and one tablespoon of balsamic vinegar.  Throw the pancetta in, let the butter melt, put the cooked pasta in the frying pan, mix it up quickly and that’s it.  Top with a small spoonful of ricotta cheese, and add parmesan and fresh pepper.

    Yes, I mistyped oliver when I meant to type olive.  I don’t think Oliver would be too appreciative.  And the ASPCA would be seriously unamused.

    But seriously, if you want a quick and filling meal with an astronomical calorie count, the above is seriously good.  I use whole wheat pasta.  And the Bedford Cheese Shop sells amazing pancetta, even if it is seriously overpriced at $16 per pound.
