I think I’ve mentioned before how there’s always breakfast supplied here at work. There’s usually something hot, like egg-and-cheese-on-croissant sandwiches, but since I usually roll in at about 10:30 a.m., that option’s often done and gone by the time I arrive. Therefore, I usually hit the cereal section of the cupboard.
Today, to my surprise, there were boxes of sugary cereals like Lucky Charms and Frosted Flakes in addition to the usual healthier choices like Basic 4 and Total.
You’d think that I’d be excited about Lucky Charms with its multicolored marshmallows, but I spent four years of college eating the stuff almost every day. The dining commons at school was so bad that I often ate Lucky Charms for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In fact, while I was there, Bard was ranked as having one of the ten worst food services of any college in the U.S. by U.S. News and World Report. I don’t know what it’s like now, but back then it was horrible.
Anyway, Lucky Charms. Yeesh.
