Found the song I heard in the bar of the Soho Grand Hotel!!! I should totally become a private eye. The name of this tune is I’ve Got Something on My Mind by the Left Banke (and yes, that’s the proper spelling). It’s a great song.
Listen to this and then to Black Cab by Jens Lekman (maybe I’ll post it tomorrow). Remarkable similarity, isn’t it?
