I’m really enjoying Luther. Just watched episode 03 of the first season earlier tonight.
Diary of a Non-Smoker, Part 05
Day 01: 4:02 p.m. I keep thinking about something Bill Maher said on his TV show several weeks back.
You’re always one cigarette away from a pack per day habit.
My jaw is really starting to hurt from chewing this generic Nicorette.
Matt Maul’s writeup about the latest episode of Mad Men makes some fascinating parallels between the show’s characters, the Kennedy shootings and societal changes of the 1960s. Required reading for any fan of the show, I think.
Personally, I can’t wait for Sunday night’s season finale. Although the lineup of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bored to Death and Mad Men makes for a strange viewing schedule. From the funniest show in the history of television to the most complicated and layered, with Jason Schwarzman in the middle.
Somebody recently told me that Breaking Bad is great too, but I’m a little reluctant to dive in. Terminal diseases and crystal meth just seems so bleak. Maybe I’ll give it a try, though. I saw the opening of one episode, and it was beautifully shot and very mesmerizing.
Finally finished watching the second series of this late last night. I might watch the Christmas special later on today.
A script for the hopefully forthcoming Arrested Development movie is in the works. They’re getting closer.
They’re Shooting the Good Wife on Manhattan Avenue Here in Greenpoint
I’m guessing that it’s second unit material. There don’t seem to be any stars around, and there are no enormous trailers. Just a bunch of officious-looking twenty-somethings wearing headsets and cheap clothes, and a bunch of overweight middle-aged guys in dirty sweatshirts. And they’re shooting in a bodega.
Also, I passed a policeman raiding the craft services table on my way to the gym.
Matt Maul has another perceptive writeup of the most recent episode of Mad Men posted on his blog. And, as usual, you can find me writing something in the comments.
